All the PDF's can be downloaded, printed and completed at home. Alternatively, if you do not have a printer, several of the activities can simply be opened and enjoyed without have to print, so be sure to look through them all to see what best suits your needs and circumstance.

A weekly Podcast brought to you buy Cyfarthfa Castle Museum & Art Gallery dedicated to the lesser known history of an industrial giant. Every episode will look at the hidden history of Merthyr Tydfil a place in South Wales that changed the world in the 19th century. Merthyr was home to not only the worlds largest ironworks but it was also the place where the man who killed Sherlock Holmes lives, where a group of artists helped the unemployed to build their own houses, where a vocalist visualised the human voice for the first time in history and much, much more. Craft Along with us and create a marbled bookmark!

The Victorians loved to marble things; books, scrap books, wrapping paper and more.

Follow along with us and marble some paper then turn it into a corner bookmark. *You will need some marbling ink (can be found on craft sites like Baker Ross or Ebay fairly easily and is very cheap), a tray to hold water, card, and that's it! More information on all of that on the video!

Thousands of evacuees came to Merthyr Tydfil during WWII and they were only allowed to carry a small amount of belongings to their new home. Find out more by making your own mini evacuees pack out of paper.

This resource is best used when printed out, but you can, with an adults help, copy the basic shape of the suitcase and draw your own versions of the objects and create your own without printing.

In 1838, Lady Charlotte Guest translated the traditional Welsh folk tales we call collectively 'The Mabinogion' from Welsh to English, opening up the stories to a whole new audience. So, we thought we would create prints inspired by those stories.
